SOCIAL WELFARE
Social
welfare in the hospital helps ensure that vulnerable people have
access to care.
There
is 1 social worker. The social welfare officer administers the
exempted patients in cooperation with the Hospital Matron’s office.
She also takes care and records cases of gender based violence and
child abuse. She counsels patients with social problems. She makes
sure neglected patients get food and treatment
The
fact that there are no medicine grants makes it difficult to give
treatment without payment. There is only a limited amount of
medicines paid by poor fund as the amount has a ceiling.
There
is a need for special grant for social welfare for home visits
tracing etc.
