CTC
The
CTC of Sengerema CDH started January 2006. Since 2017 AGPAHI
supervised and facilitates its activities succeeding AIDS relief and
CSSC before. Stress is on accurate data collection, increased HIV
testing, paediatric enrollment and enrollment of all people who
tested positive and their partners.
There
are daily clinics from Monday to Friday and Saturday clinics for
youth at school. Tuesday is family clinic. Blood for CD4 (at the
start of treatment) or viral load (every 6 months) at the clinicis
taken as much as possible. Blood for viral load is brought to BMC for
testing. Clients with high viral load who did not improve on enhanced
adherence counseling are eligible for 2nd
line treatment.
Youth
of different age groups with HIV who attend the clinic are gathered
for guidance and education so that while growing up they learn how to
live with HIV and adhere to treatment.
