General OPD
Key
personnel in the outpatient clinics are the clinical officers. They
take care of general outpatient clinics, children’s clinics and
casualty on rotation. Some clinical officers have special duties
rotating at the CTC (care and treatment clinic for HIV patients) one
is assigned to non-communicable diseases clinic. The DTLC is also a
clinical officer.
Assistant
Medical Officers and Medical Officers rotate in the 2 general
doctors’ offices in outpatients.
Administration
is still done by the national manual HIMS system. A trial with
computerized Afya Pro did not get sufficient cooperation of the
clinical staff some years ago, but the need is there to reintroduce
it or shift to the government system GOT-HOMIS
Afya
Pro records data about attendance, exemptions is the system we use
for billing.
